Sevendust will be dropping out of the upcoming United Kingdom leg of the Walk The Sky tour with Alterbridge and Shinedown.
The band made the announcement on social media Wednesday (December 11th), explaining that drummer and co-vocalist Morgan Rose is not well enough to perform. Their Instagram post reads, “It is with a heavy heart that we must say that we will not be able to join our brothers in Alter Bridge & Shinedown on the upcoming U.K. tour dates of the Walk The Sky Tour. Morgan Rose is sick, in the hospital and under strict doctor’s orders not to move or leave the country. We will make it up to you all.”
The final leg of the tour kicks off this Saturday (December 14th) in Nottingham, England and concludes on December 21st in London.
Although Rose is under orders not to perform on these dates, the band says they will still hold their own Acoustic Xmas shows in the U.S. later this month.
This is a bit of an extra-special bummer, as TODAY is Morgan’s Birthday!
FOZZY front man Chris Jericho revealed that the band has a “lot of great tunes” written and are gearing up to get back into the studio.
Jericho tells PureGrainAudio’s Paltrocast, “It’s interesting, because the writing process has been in full swing for probably six months or so. And now it’s at the point where I get sent new demos — finished demos — maybe once a week. So I think now we’re at the point where it’s time to start recording.”
The FOZZY singer tells Darren Paltrowitz that their eighth studio album will be out in 2020.
It will be produced by Johnny Andrews, who worked on Judas and previously co-wrote FOZZY’s “Lights Go Out” track back in 2014.

Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ drummer Chad Smith will be displaying his artwork on an eight-city tour next year.
Road Show Company’s The Art of Chad Smith opens January 4th in Austin at the Russell Collection Fine Art and will make stops in Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, Jacksonville, Nashville and Boston. The exhibition will display more than 80 pieces of abstract artwork that were built from photographs of Smith playing drums with lighted, fluorescent sticks.
Smith tells Billboard, “It’s a really cool medium. Music, sound and visualization, all those things go hand in hand. My hope is that the emotion of it and the fluidity and the intensity comes across.”
The collection is a followup to a set called Parallax that he did back in 2016.
In a conversation with Loudwire, Tobias Forge outlined one of his biggest frustrations and discusses the band’s connection to Dave Grohl.
The Ghost vocalist explains that the mask he wears is a huge hindrance. He says, “Honestly, I’m actually a better singer than the mask and the get-up allows me to be. That is very irritating. I didn’t notice it in the first couple of years because I didn’t have the amount of practice that I have now, but now, when I’m a better singer, it’s very annoying.”
He also shoots down the suggestion that Dave Grohl is collaborating with the band. Aside from producing and playing both drums and guitar on the 2013 EP If You Have Ghost, Forge says the Foo Fighters front man has only served “as an inspriration, not much more than that.”
He adds, “Of course, Foo Fighters have been very supportive fans and took us out on the road, but nothing more than that. He’s not been sort of involved in other records; if that is what people are thinking.”
As we wrote earlier, we want to wish a Happy Birthday and speedy recovery to Sevendust’s Morgan Rose. Also celebrating birthdays today are Amy Lee of Evanescence and Tom Delonge of Blink-182! Have a great day and an awesome weekend!
