The band posted a photo on Instagram of five reels of master tape, accompanying by the simple caption: “It’s F***ing ON.” No other information was shared in the post, including a possible album title or any other hints about the set, but it’s apparent that the band is recording to analog tape again, as it did on 2011’s Wasting Light.We asked drummer Taylor Hawkins if the Foos put pressure on themselves every time they start a new album to top the previous one: “Absolutely. Always, every time. I mean, you always want every one of ’em to be the best one you’ve ever done, and you always think you haven’t done your best one, and you know, although it’s arguable to some people, we still feel that way. You know, I still think we haven’t done, written our ‘Hotel California’ yet or whatever, you know, our ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ or whatever. So you know, you should always be a little scared every time.”…Nine Inch Nails and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Robin Finck is working on his first solo album, on which he’ll sing as well as play guitar, Finck revealed, “I was in the throes of that when Trent called me for this (NIN) tour and so I’m looking to get into that when this tour lands at some point next year.” Finck discussed the solo album in a lengthy new album that also touches on his stints in NIN as well as his time working in Guns N’ Roses. (Ultimate Guitar)….U2 will be the first musical guest for Jimmy Fallon when he takes over as host of NBC’s The Tonight Show next month, according to Rolling Stone. The news was revealed on Sunday night (Jan 19th) via Twitter by Jonathan Cohen, Fallon’s music booker. Fallon’s other major guest when he debuts as the successor to Jay Leno on Feb 17th will be actor Will Smith. The show will air at midnight, following the Winter Olympics broadcast. U2 is rumored to be releasing its first studio album in nearly five years this coming April, with the band reportedly shooting a video recently for a possible first single called “Invisible.” Excerpts from the video and song may appear in a commercial ad during the Super Bowl on February 2nd which will announce the album’s release date and title.
