Grohl, Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor and Queens leader Josh Homme have all collaborated before, most recently when they recorded the song “Mantra” for Grohl’s 2013 documentary Sound City— in which Buckingham also appeared. It is not yet known what the musicians will perform on the show, which is scheduled to air live from Los Angeles this Sunday night (Jan 26th) on CBS-TV, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Queens Of The Stone Age are also up for Best Rock Album for . . . Like Clockwork, while Nine Inch Nails is nominated for Best Alternative Album for Hesitation Marks, on which Buckingham played some guitar. Grohl is also up for Best Rock Song and Best Compilation Soundtrack, both stemming from Sound City. The hard-rocking ensemble adds to an evening that will also feature performances from Metallica,Imagine Dragons, Daft Punk, Lorde, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Gary Clark Jr., Taylor Swift,Katy Perry, Beyonce and Jay-Z and more. (Thanks Pulse of Radio!)….Spoke with Mike Inez from Alice In Chains yesterday. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet in rock. Always has a smile on his face, always welcoming. He is just a sweetheart! He even invited me to stay at his house next time I go out to LA! So nice! (He’s married, people!) Told me the band is excited about their first ever show in Singapore that’s coming up in March and they’re doing Japan and Australia (Soundwave.) The band is also co-headlining Sonicsphere this July in the UK and Europe with Metallica. And perhaps there might be a spring tour in the states. They’ve already booked at date April 26th in Oklahoma at the WinStar Casino, which is near Jerry’s family’s ranch. (They call Jerry’s dad, Rooster.) Anyhow, stay tuned for more and please check out their auction items for Alice In Chains 5th Annual Fantasy Football Auction. The Tudor-style mansion, located in the Hancock Park district (I used to live nearby!), went for $3.65 million after being listed for $3.95 million. The house, built in 1924, features wood paneling in the living room, pub room and entryway, along with stone fireplaces and a remodeled kitchen. There are six bedrooms, five bathrooms and 6,249 square feet of interior space. The half-acre lot also contains a guest house, pool house, swimming pool and spa. The home previously sold in 1999 for $1.8 million. It is not clear whether Zombie is moving to a new home in Los Angeles or leaving the area entirely.
