Man, those insane storms that ripped through the city last night brought with them the most ominous clouds I have EVER seen with my own eyes! Here’s some proof!… Woo Hoo! Vacation starts today for your friend Roxy! In the meantime, I can share these items with ya: Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has joined The Voice, the NBC-TV singing competition program. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Armstrong will act as a mentor to Christina Aguilera‘s team on the show. In a statement, Armstrong said that he and his family are fans of the show, adding that the show is “not molding artists, it’s just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover.” He also called working with Aguilera “a lot of fun.” Armstrong began taping his segments for the show on Wed (July 25th), joining previously announced season three mentors Rob Thomas, Mary J. Blige and Michael Buble. The show’s third season premieres on Sep 10th….Three Days Grace‘s new single “Chaulk Outline” (sorry, thought I heard it as “Chaulk Lines,” kinda like that better…) off the forthcoming Transit of Venus, is due Aug 14. You can also pre-order the album that day for release Oct 2. Waiting on news if the band will drop by the hardDrive studios next week! Stay tuned….Tool drummer Danny Carey offered a brief update on the progress of the band’s fifth studio album in an interview with the “Children Of Saturn” radio show last week. Carey explained, “The Tool thing is happening. Me, Adam (Jones, guitar) and Justin (Chancellor, bass) are banging away. Trying to get enough (material) to get Maynard (James Keenan, singer) in there, but there is no wine before it’s time.” Meanwhile, Maynard is getting ready for harvesting of his vineyards in Arizona. I am looking forward to what he has to offer from his Caduceus Vineyards this year. Very delicious stuff (and not the kind you will find in a box or a bag, kids!)….Celebrating brithdays!
